off schedule

i was on vacation last week. did absolutely nothing. rested for a change. i was at home mostly, on the web quite a bit. didn't post here though.

even now, although i should be sleeping, i'm on the web.

tomorrow is going to be rough. i found myself falling asleep yesterday.

i did attend my family reunion this weekend. i have some fine relatives. interesting the number on my great aunt's side. of the 10 kids, none of them look alike. it was so weird. on my grandmothers side, they all favor and you could clearly see the resemblance. i was nominated to coordinate the next gathering. we meet every 2 years. i hope to take a 4-day cruise to San Diego, Catalina Island, and Baja Mexico. the families from Georgia and Florida won't be too happy leaving out of Los Angeles. we'll see what the committee decides on.

its so weird that i was off all week last week and cracked my tooth on Sunday, which required me to leave work early yesterday. dentists are good. i wanted to have the tooth pulled. it was sharp and cutting my tongue. someway the dentist talked me into having a root canal. the total cost - $785! when i was told my insurance pays all but $175, i couldn't resist.

hmmm, don't want to talk about celebrities today.

can't find my list of rambles...when i do, i'll be back...

MOVIE SPOILER

you know me

here's my take on Spiderman 2:

This movie is broken down in the most simplistic form, so it can get a message across that is much more than a superhero film. Try remembering the movie with the characters representing these roles:

Spiderman - USA
Mary Jane - freedom
Dr. Oct - terrorism
two black boys - future soldiers

the unmasking was to show a "kid" taking on a big job. The USA is young compared to other countries in the world.

all of the arms represent the different branches and cells of terrorism. The Dr. Oct and Peter had met briefly so they knew of each other. Spiderman couldn't kill this enemy but instead showed him how wrong it was, so he could destroy himself. Hopefully this is what will happen with terrorism.

This is a very well made movie. It is not just entertainment.

stay alive

that's what i should have yelled out to a brother i saw who was stopped by the police on my way home. he had gotten out of his car, and seemed very upset. i noticed several police cars rushing down the street. why did it take 8 to 10 cars of them for ONE BLACK MAN? i should have stopped, but i kept going.

i feel bad now because i keep a digital camera with me, with a video option for reasons like this.

there was a crowd gathering to watch. i hope he's ok.
