HAPPY KWANZAA!!

Today is the first day of Kwanzaa. What's the news? UNITY!

I'm every excited about this festival. Truly a blessing to look at my (our) lives and check to see if we are living good, wholesome, and honest lives at would be pleasing to the Creator.

James 1:18-Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Praise God!

i just talked with my mom and she told me this morning while she was watching Frederick Price he commented on the lies and deception of the Xmas story. yes! i hope the black family will understand truth and start to make this a different world for us.

happiness is not base on things, but knowledge of self and personal growth. these are the teachings of Kwanzaa.

Exodus 23:16: And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.

kwanza is "firstfruits" in Swahili. this activity is ancient in origin. it is very biblical and scriptural. we can learn to sow good seeds by following Kwanzaa.

i read this in my studies this morning - Isaiah 25:1: O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

shopping yesterday

found some great deals on DVDs and picked up quite a few yesterday.

1 ) The Color Purple - Special Edition i saw part of this on HBO the other day. i realized how much i enjoyed it. i have one sister and understand the love. nothing but death could keep me from it! great story.
2) The Fifth Element this is my all time favorite movie. i love everything about it. awesome! (item removed from wishlist)
3) Purple Rain classic Prince! hadn't seen him in awhile and thought i'll go to Lake Minnetaka.

i will buy Graffiti Bridge and Under the Cherry Moon too. love stories are my favorite movies.
4) Enter the Dragon i also bought Return of the Dragon and Fist of Fury. i'm on a Bruce Lee kick right now. my best workouts are kickboxing. Bruce had an awesome workout routine and his body is proof of it.
5) last but not least i picked up a TheFirm - Maximum Cardio Burn Plus Abs to keep in my size 6. i know my priorities.

i watched the replay of the Source Awards last night. i was embarassed. why would anyone think a prison yard is a good set to perform in, or to be enjoyed? oh wait, this is the same group that redid the "n" word and embraced it. need i say more...

MIA

Blogger was down the other day so i couldn't log on. now my connection at home doesn't work. i called Cox to report the problem and was sent video reps two times instead of data. not a lot going on anyway...

edit: why oh why did my DATA rep that was there to fix my Internet connection give me free HBO. i had Showtime and requested that it be turned off. They took the charges off my bill but i still receive the feed. therefore i get two channels without charge.

i'm never moving out of this apartment.

it's hectic

- right now my apartment is under construction. my landlord is putting in a new air conditioning unit. the house was built in 1921 so there is no duct system. the contractors didn't use any coversheets so i have sawdust or plaster all over my things.

- with that i am dealing with car problems. i drive a Korean made Daewoo which stopped selling in the American market last year. they stated it was too hard to make a profit here. so anytime you need a part for the car, it has to be shipped in and they are limited. i've been using my dad's truck. he is ready to have it back, and i am ready to have my car back. when, oh when will the part come in.

- lastly, the new job. it's hectic. training people my old job (when they are already busy) is hectic.
