i love the Internet. i truly do. i can sign on and surf away. take a peek at lives all over the world. they may or may not know i came by. i love making new friends. i appreciate those of you that visit this site!
now about that Ryder Cup. what was Curtis Strange thinking to hold back on his best players? oops, Phil Mick lost his match, didn't he? i really don't know where his mind is nowadays. he must be dealing with issues of not winning a major. we can never fully understand the pressure these guys go through.
the USA will get the cup back in 2 years. home court advantage.

wow. that didn't take long. it appears the Seminole Indians voted blacks out of the tribe in July 2000. why? were we not active enough, or interested enough in our heritage? did anyone seek us out? here's the website if anyone wants to read it. it won't stop me. i plan to research all the way back to Africa.

i will be starting a new hobby and hope to get some concrete answers to my geneolgy in 2003. i will be tracing my family trees. there is alot of interest for me in my father's side because several of his relatives have indian traits, and black indians are very popular in Oklahoma. so far, i am looking at a small town in Hotulka, OK where we had a lot of family reunions. the tribe is Seminole Indians. i have joined the Black Indian group at Delphi forums. stay tuned. it should be interesting.

went to the State Fair this weekend. had a good time. i love spending time in the Import Building. there are vendors from all over the world. I bought 2 messenger bags, and an anklet with bells. i love jewelry on my body, including my legs. i wear 5 gold anklets now. i will post a picture soon so you can see my style.

there seems to be a problem with the comments made by the Eddie character in the movie Barbershop. several people are calling for a boycott. Eddie made comments about Jesse Jackson, MLK, OJ, Rodney King, and Rosa Parks. I was taken aback by the comments and thought if they weren't there, it would be a GREAT movie. It would be good to see an edited version made of the movie. I did not plan to buy the DVD only because these comments were there.
WARNING! i am listing the comments below and my commentary about them.
1 - "f*ck Jesse Jackson!"
he has been a disappointment to me and a lot more AAs. so, this doesn't bother me.
2 - "MLK is a ho."
this has been rumored for years. no one would have this idea if there wasn't any validity to it. this doesn't bother me either.
3 - "OJ did it."
i think all of America believes OJ did it, so again, this doesn't bother me.
4 - "He was drunk and should have stayed at home."...or something like that.
this statement on Rodney King is true, BUT that doesn't give the police a right to abuse him. this is foul and should not be uttered by a black person. Total disgrace.
5 - "She did start the movement, but all she did was sit down."
Rosa sat in the right place, and didn't get up. The writer of the movie should have to endure life prior to the civil rights movement. i bet his tune would change drastically.
Cedric The Entertainer was on BET Tonight this Monday and tried to clean it up. He wasn't comfortable explaining it.

i added a new log for poetry today. look for the link at the right. Spiritual Juice this is a name i got from a poem i wrote last year. ...my heart flow with spiritual juice... its a metaphor with the love of God.
i'm going to focus on writing haikus at the moment.
i will be updating and making both pages pretty real soon.

sorry to be gone for so long. the job has been busy. had a stomach ache today (too many cupcakes)  . not alot going on.
i've been watching Nigerian movies and catching the new shows on tv this fall. it's premiere week! 
the new Cedric show was on tonight. it was okay. he's from the midwest, and around my age. i remember when he was first starting in Dallas back in the day. Steve Harvey too. the difference a day makes.
I've also been watching BET Tonight which has been real entertaining AND educational.

i check out the Barbershop movie yesterday and it was mad funny! I had a posse with me too. My aunt, sister, 3 cousins, and their kids. It was fun!
Wow, the last day of the weekend already.  Times flies so fast to me. 
I really need to pick up around this house. It would be fun to rearrange it, but cleaning it will be the priority today.
So, i'll get to that, and get back to you later.

did you miss me yesterday? i had some things to deal with.
it's a trip. i've only had this journal for a week, and now i'm ready to change the colors. oh, all the formatting. maybe tomorrow. you have any ideas for me?
i have new neighbors. i saw them last night when i made a late run to Taco Bell. They were using my bird feeder as an ashtray.  No good. I stopped, spoke and told them. I peeked out this morning, and they are in the courtyard smoking, using it again. This will be interesting.
Oh well, i have a couple of things to do before I go to the show this evening. I got a posse to hang at the movie today. We going to have fun!

i had a good morning today. i received a special assignment from my new boss. i worked hard and got it done before lunch.
i went to eat at a Indian restaurant that i hadn't been to in a while. it was tasty. i must get some of those recipes.
not alot going on in life. Jehovah is blessing me.
dang, i forgot to mail a couple of bills. must remember to it this evening. can't have those late charges on credit cards. yikes!!
i really need some new shoes.

today was 1 year since the attacks. i watched a little of the coverage yesterday and this morning. this evening i hung with my niece, so i didn't see any tonight. BET has some clips too. i hope we (Americans and foreigners) have learned from it. it appears the world hates the USA and there is nothing we can do about that. i don't trust Iraq. i try not to get political, but hey, its life and so....

well, i still have a job. i made the cut and was offered to keep my position with the new company. what i didn't expect is the secretary for the vp of operations to ignore him, until i succumbed to get his mail. now i'm his secretary too. which is fine. he is the number 2 or 3 guy in the company. major exposure. he complimented my 5 ankle bracelets and also my girlfriends afro puff. Natural Hair Rules!!!
i will work today. i have plenty of it! :-}

Day 2 - don't worry. i'm not going to keep the day count going. i thought it would be fun to do it a short while.
me. Janice. DivineJoy. what does it mean. i live a life seeking divine peace and it brings me joy. of course it only comes from serving the Creator. you will find a lot of reference for him in this blog. He means everything to me. the reason i live is to please him.
i have been eBaying crazy. i think i have bought close to 10 dresses in the past month on that site. i love clothes made out of 100% pure linen. be warned. once you start wearing it regularly, you will be very uncomfortable wearing pagan fabrics. LOL! that's what i call acrylics and polyester. i love cotton too.
OK, i'm at work, guess i will do some. chat with you later. oh yea, you can't leave a comment on this site, yet. i'll figure that out soon. :-)
